WWE News And Rumors: Some Reasons Why You Boo At Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is not your typical babyface donned with WWE Heavyweight championship belt. In fact, he is one of the promotion's loathsome figures in the pro wrestling universe apart from The Authority. For quite some time, WWE's top brass has been trying to sell Reigns as a babyface figure along the John Cena type. Apparently, their effort didn't work as expected.

At WrestleMania 31, the crowd booed so badly at him that he'd probably get buried before he'll make it out as champion. When he appeared on WrestleMania 32, he still prevailed, reigned and hated. Though the character he is sporting is that of villainous guy, the whole reviled image about him seems to electrify the crowd in each live in-ring performance.

"If you were listening closely during Roman Reigns' WWE World Heavyweight Championship defense against AJ Styles in Chicago on Sunday night, you heard a sound foreign to the company's broadcasts of late: the sound of cheers directed at the second-generation star," Bleacher Report stated.

"One of the most vocal and bloodthirsty crowds in the country voiced its support for Reigns as the main event of Payback 2016 progressed, something few expected would ever happen."

Dropping serious effort to make him look like a good kid is probably not what the audience wants. As far as WWE is concerned, it will stop its attempt to discourage fans from booing Reigns. WWE's creative team would simply need to spin the storyline and explain why booing is good for him and the show.

"With Reigns being positioned as Cena's successor not only in terms of his wrestling spot, but his charity work as well, WWE is trying to portray Reigns as someone whom the fans really like, but they enjoy booing. In essence, booing Reigns is something that leads to a fun atmosphere at shows, it isn't personal," WhatCulture explained.

Meanwhile, Roman Reigns and the Usos has just pinned down rival AJ Styles with Karl Anderson and the Gallows in a six-man tag event to win the event. The match took place on Monday night's 'Raw' following his victory over Styles in an earlier WWE Payback event the night before according to pro wrestling update by Fox Sports.
