Arsenal Transfer News: Alexis Sanchez Could Leave Arsenal Following Frustrating Season
Arsenal seems to be in a meltdown of sorts following a disappointing season in which they failed to hold on to their position at the top of the league table that they had achieved at the turn of the year and it seems that one of their most influential players, Alexis Sanchez is now frustrated with the turn of affairs in North London. According to reports in the British publication The Daily Telegraph, Sanchez is not happy with his situation at Arsenal and his relation with manager Arsene Wenger might be on the verge of total breakdown following his substitution at the 84th minute in the game against Norwich last weekend at the Emirates stadium. The player was not amused at being substituted for a defensive minded player, namely Frances Coquelin and after being substituted he did nto even speak to his manager as he ran straight to the dressing room in a hurry.
Sanchez is currently at the middle of contract negotiations with the club and Arsenal want the player to extend his contract beyond the two years that are left in his contract, however the latest turn of events has cast a dark cloud over the proceedings. It is important to point out that Sanchez is Arsenal's most influential player and clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich are interested in his services, if the contract negotiations with the club prove to be fruitless.
Alexis Sanchez is a player who does not like to get much rest and in the past he has stated that he wants to play each and every game even though his manager Arsene Wenger often thinks otherwise. Although it can be put down as the eagerness of the player to play every game, it now seems that it has now become a bone of contention between the two. However, the biggest concern remains that the Chilean might not be entirely convinced whether Arsenal can challenge for the biggest trophies and a few months back he had in fact expressed his views regarding the same. "If we go out on to the pitch with hunger to become champions, to win the Premier League or the Champions League, we can achieve it, to win big things. There are great players. I train with them daily and they have got the mentality and the desire to win but we lack hunger, the mentality that we are [already] winning 1-0 when we go out on to the pitch."
