Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Breathing Tube Removed, Condition Remains 'Critical'
Doctors have removed Bobbi Kristina Brown's breathing tube, however her condition remains unchanged, according to reports.
Brown has had surgery to replace her breathing tube with a tracheostomy tube, according to the New York Times. A tracheostomy, which involves cutting into a patient's neck, is often performed on patients who need to be on a ventilator for an extended period.
Brown has been on a ventilator since Jan. 31, when she was hospitalized after being found unconscious in her bath tub in her Roswell, Ga., townhouse.
The surgery comes nearly three weeks after the 21-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub of her Georgia home.
Brown's family has said she's "fighting for her life" at Emory University Hospital. A police investigation is ongoing and few details on her condition have been released.
Bobbi Kristina's father, singer Bobby Brown, recently issued a statement denying Bobbi is brain dead and her life support will be shut off soon. The Brown family also insisted Bobbi Kristina's condition has been improving.
Bobbi Kristina Brown was found in a bathtub full of water on January 31 at her Roswell, Georgia, residence.
Her mother Whitney Houston was also found in a bathtub, just hours before she was to attend a pre-Grammy Awards party. A coroner ruled Houston's death an accidental drowning, with heart disease and cocaine use listed as contributing factors.
