This Is One Premium Looking Smartwatch From LG

After doing "almost" decent with its previous two versions of smartwatches, LG seems to be gearing up right for the third version (at least by looks). The company is launching LG Watch Urbane - an all metal with the circular body smartwatch - in the upcoming MWC 2015.

Essentially, the LG Watch Urbane is an Android Wear smartwatch that LG calls its luxury iteration, with an all metal body with gold and silver finishes and a natural swappable leather strap.

LG noted that the LG Watch Urbane is not the sequel to the G Watch and G Watch R, but the new model will "complement" its existing Android Wear offerings.

LG Watch Urbane Specs

The new smartwatch has the same 1.3-inch circular P-OLED display as the G Watch R with resolution of 320X320 pixels. The battery is also the same (410 mAh) as the previous models so that could be a disappointment if you were expecting it to cross three-day barrier. The smartwatch also equips the PPG sensor that lets users monitor their heart rate.

LG is also trying to push this smartwatch equally for men and women. The bezel has been considerably reduced to give it a thinner profile appealing both genders.

The LG Watch Urbane is also being seen as an Apple Watch competitor.

First impression: premium; however it's not the only thing that is going to determine its fate.

More details will emerge when LG releases it in the upcoming MWC. Stay tuned.
