It looks like Microsoft's next generation gaming console, Xbox Project Scorpio, won't be as expensive as many anticipated it to be.

Price leaks for the upcoming Xbox Project Scorpio have just arrived and according to the Daily Star, the cost of the gaming console won't be as heavy as everyone believed it would be. During this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, Phil Spencer the head of Microsoft Xbox suggested that the technology being used on the Xbox Project Scorpio would be unlike anything anyone's ever seen, a wide leap from the HDR and 4K offerings of the current Xbox One S. Rumors have also confirmed that Xbox Project Scorpio would be the best of the best, leading many to believe that the console would take a toll on the wallet as well.

However, it looks like Xbox Project Scorpio price won't come close to what one spends when purchasing a gaming rig. In a recent interview, Spencer revealed that he and the rest of the team would want the next generation console to be priced just like a regular console, not like a gaming PC.

"I want Scorpio to be at a console price-point, I'm not trying to go and compete with a high-end rig," Spencer stated during the interview.

It definitely looks like Microsoft is trying to balance both affordability and quality, a good sign for Xbox gamers everywhere.

So far Spencer has confirmed that Xbox Project Scorpio specs would have 6 teraflops of GPU for wildly efficient and powerful performance and Microsoft assures gamers that the console will be able to provide native 4k gaming to players everywhere as well.

With Xbox Project Scorpio specs and potential gaming power, a lot of gamers are excited to know when Microsoft will be releasing the console. Though there isn't any official confirmation on the Xbox Project Scorpio release date, PC Advisor reports that Spencer has hinted that the console would probably come around Christmas next year.
