Nintendo Switch Hybrid Console: Not Region-Free? List Of New Hybrid Games & Release Dates Announced
Nintendo Switch was shown in "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" last week along with "Super Mario" creator Shigeru Miyamoto appearing in the show which teases the upcoming "Super Mario Run" comeback. Now, there are numerous updates that will surely get fans of the hybrid console excited for the unveiling event of Nintendo Switch next year.
With only a few days remaining from the Nintendo Switch big reveal, the revolutionary hybrid gaming console is set to be unveiled on January 13, 2017, in Tokyo, Japan while the official release date of the console worldwide is in March 2017. In the January event, selected media personalities in the United States and Europe will be given the chance to test out the console while the public can watch the event simultaneously.
Contrary to other reports, the Nintendo Switch is not region-free. In a report by Siliconera, the back of the gaming console that was tested in "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" showed a "CE" mark which notes that it is a European unit, and equivalent to the United States is "FCC" mark. While this conclusion is too early to be put in stone as there is a possibility the software would still be entirely region-free.
Developers are also announcing games that would be available in the hybrid console Nintendo Switch. As previously reported, Nintendo will be featuring classic games such as "The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild" and "Super Mario Run" in the console, as shown on Jimmy Fallon's show. But there are also software releases from other developers including "Dark Souls Trilogy" collection and GameCube's games. There are also independent developers who will be joining the hybrid club including "Seasons Of Heavens and "The Sacred Hero."
The hybrid system of Nintendo Switch allows users to play single and multiplayer games at home and elsewhere. The revolutionary portability of the gaming console is game-changing. Now, gaming is no longer a solitary activity, but a group activity that can be taken anywhere, anytime.
