It’s just been a few days since “Final Fantasy XV” was officially released and players all over the world are bashing their joysticks defeating daemons and completing quests as they explore the world of the new Square Enix video game.

There has not been an official guide released yet nor even a decent walkthrough that players can count on to make the most out of “Final Fantasy XV”. Here is a quick guide about astrals, how to use them, and how to acquire the first two astrals in the game. An astral is a summon or if it was in “Final Fantasy VIII”, is a guardian force who aids Noctis in his journey.

Astrals are very useful especially with tough and long fights. They pack quite a punch and they usually come in their own unique element. There are reportedly seven astrals in “Final Fantasy XV” that players can acquire and summon.

How To Acquire Carbuncle

Carbuncle is the easiest astral to obtain because the only requirement is to have downloaded and played the “Final Fantasy XV” demo. Probably the reason why the demo is still lying around in stores despite the official game already being released. Might as well grab a copy of it before PlayStation and Square Enix decide to take it down.

Carbuncle is acquired as soon as main game is started. It is activated during the demo when young Noctis meets it for the first time. Like in previous “Final Fantasy” games, Carbuncle possesses a ruby where it draws its power from. In previous games, it casts Reflect, Shell, and Protect but in this recent installment, it uses the Ruby Light to heal Noctis when his HP is dangerously low.

How To Find and Acquire Titan

Titan is the first Astral that is actually obtained without having the need for the demo version. He will be acquired by following the main story as the game introduces the astrals. In Chapter 4: Living Legend, he will come and help Noctis in a battle. In order to keep Titan as an astral, Noctis must complete the trial called “Destroy Titan’s Arm”.

Titan possesses the earth element and unleashes powerful attacks like “Gaia’s Wrath” that can cause earthquakes so stir away from him and pummel him with Warp Strike and Link Strike. Utilize warp points and remember not to go for his right arm immediately. Make sure to damage him enough then go for the objective.

Titan only appears when Noctis and his party are in a critical situation but he does not show up in literally tight places where he can’t fit in. The astrals in “Final Fantasy XV” just like in the thirteenth main installment, can only be obtained through various certain quests.
