Miley Cyrus talked to a magazine to express her struggles with her sexuality, especially during her early teenage years. She even admitted that her first relationship was with a girl.
The 23-year-old hitmaker confessed to Variety how, at a very young age, she saw how different she was with her mother who loves being a girl so much. However, he did not find being a boy to be 'fun'. In an LGBTQ center where Miley Cyrus heard a lot of stories concerning sexuality, then she finally understood hers when she encountered the term "pansexual".
Hollywood Life explains what "pansexual" is all about. According to the report, the word is derived from the "pan", a Greek prefix which means "all". As defined in the dictionary, "pansexual" is a sexual choice which is not limited with regard to gender, gender identity or biological sex. While it means being gender-neutral, it also refers to an individual who gets attracted to all gender identities. Thus, the term is found to be totally different with "bisexual".
CNN quotes Miley Cyrus on expounding her sexual preference. "I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn't involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that's legal, I'm down with. Yo, I'm down with any adult - anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me. I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl," the singer said.
Despite this news of putting a finality about Miley Cyrus' sexuality just bloating today, the actress-singer has actually been open about it since her "Wrecking Ball" release. She also expressed her relief when her mother finally understood her sexuality in a certain segment from "The Voice". The segment showed a girl who found courage in admitting she's pansexual through Cyrus. "My mom started crying. She was like, 'I'm so sorry about the way I was when you were that age and coming out.' She never understood me until she saw that girl who couldn't be herself. It was very cool," she added.
