Galaxy Note 6 Release Date, News and Rumors: Will Samsung Launch Phablet With 25 MP Camera?
Samsung Note 6 could launch with breathtaking specs if rumors are any indication.
Fan speculation and rumors around Samsung Galaxy Note often seem exaggerated before the device's launch. Given the hardware bumps Samsung gives its Note devices, these rumors often turn out true. This time around, the rumors seem far-fetched. Recent reports suggest the Note 6 could be unveiled with 8GB RAM, thanks to the Snapdragon 823 chip that is rumored to be included in the device.
Not much is known about the Snapdragon 823 which is yet to launch. It was reported that the chipset is powered by Kyro 64-bit quad cores, a 720 MHz Adreno 530 GPU and Hexagon Digital Signal Processor. Adding the 6 to 8 GB RAM, a 25 MP camera and a 5.8-inch QHD screen, completes the list of rumored specs of Note 6.
Not many, however, are convinced. For one, Note 5 did not see such big leaps in hardware specs over its predecessor. The rear camera remained the same while last year's Samsung phablet just had 1 GB more RAM than Note 4.
The rumored specs are certainly attractive but may fall short of drawing buyers as few real-world applications require such hardware. Additionally, a 25 MP camera while enticing, would also considerably increase the cost of the device.
For now, conservative speculation around the device suggests 6GB RAM and 16 MP camera that Samsung released in its flagship devices earlier this year.
In other related news, Samsung Note 6 is most likely to launch in summer, about a year after the launch of its predecessor. It may be available in different variants like Galaxy S7, one with an Exynos chip and another slightly higher-end device with the Snapdragon chipset.
