Samsung Galaxy J7, Galaxy J5 Release Date, Specs, Features and Price: More Evidence For April Release From Samsung India
Corroborating rumors that Samsung would follow-up Chinese launch of 2016 Galaxy J7, J5 with launch in other markets, officials support pages for these two devices have reportedly come up.
Samsung officially unveiled the two mid-range phones on its regional website in China last month. Following firmware info on the web purportedly showing international versions of the two phones, reports claimed Samsung was planning to the two devices outside China. Though no official communication has been issued by Samsung pertaining to its plans, reports claim the company's plans are evident from the appearance of these phones on Samsung India's support pages.
The phones are reportedly listed as SM-J510FZDUINS and SM-J710FZDUINS. Other details of the phones like specs have not been listed.
Details from the phone's unveiling in China reveals the 5.5-inch Galaxy J7 (2016) will be powered by a Snapdragon octa-core processor and 3GB RAM. The less expensive J5 (2016) powered by quad-core processor and 2GB RAM features a 5.2-inch HD AMOLED screen.
If the initial Indian response to Samsung J3 (2016) is any indication, the bigger cousins J5 and J7 (2016) are reasonable well equipped to do well. However, the introduction of the older J7 in the US suggests changes are possible. The phone was introduced with the RAM bumped up from 1.5 GB to 2GB. Reports claim a few other changes have also been made.
Newer editions of the two phones are part of Samsung's strategy to maintain its lead among the middle-segment devices in emerging markets.
According to GSM Arena, both the devices are likely to be available in India, Thailand, South Africa, Vietnam and Pakistan. While an official release date is not known the website mentions expected release in April.
