Scott Stapp Put on Psych Hold for 72 Hours for Unusual Behavior
Scott Stapp, the frontman of rock band Creed was put on psych hold for 72 hours straight earlier this month after the police found him in a disheveled condition on the streets, a new report by TMZ claims.
Stapp was reportedly rambling about how someone was trying to poison him and his speech was incoherent. The incident took place Nov 13.
The new report only adds to claims that Stapp has lost mental stability. Things have been going downhill for the rocker for a while now.
Last week, Stapp's wife Jaclyn filed for divorce from the singer and claimed full custody of their two children. She accused Stapp of being paranoid to an extent that he could hurt the family and himself. He apparently thought his kids and their school was marked by the ISIS for terror attacks.
Jaclyn also alleged that Stapp sent her paranoid messages about Florida not being safe and how they should flee immediately. She said that his unruly behavior was a result of his intense drug abuse.
On Thrusday, Stapp posted a 15-minute video on his Facebook page addressing the drug-abuse and death hoax rumors. He called the stories false and said that he was "sober as can be."
Stapp also said that he has been taking regular blood and urine tests to prove his sobriety in case someone calls out on him. He, however, added that he was facing troubles and was under "some kind of pretty vicious attack."
The 41-year-old rocker told his fans that "all hell broke loose" when he started an audit of his record company and his personal finances. He found that people had taken advantage of him and stolen money from him. Royalties haven't been paid for his work either.
In the video, he also disclosed that the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has frozen his bank accounts, leaving him "completely penniless." He said that he was living in a cheap Holiday Inn and had gone without food for days together.
