iPhone 6S Plus Release Date: Siri Confirms Apple's New Phones Coming September 9
It's official! The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus (or iPhone 7?) are being unveiled on September 9. Press invites have been sent by Apple, with Siri doing its bit to generate hype.
According to Macworld UK, Apple sent invites with a suggestion to ask Siri for a hint about the event. Siri offers numerous responses teasing with its replies but not revealing much. For the event, Apple has booked the Bill Graham auditorium in San Francisco that can seat 7,000. The Cupertino giant is also likely to reveal its new generation Apple TV and a new iPad.
The iPhone 6S launch in September follows what has by now become a tradition for Apple. During last three years, new launches were done in September. Following the September 9 launch this year, the new iPhones are likely to be available for pre-order on September 11 and sale on September 18.
IB Times reports that the new phones will be thicker than last generation iPhone 6 and its big brother 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. They are expected to be equipped with bigger and better 12-megapixel cameras with 4K video recording capacity. The front cameras have been bumped up to 5-mexapixel. More RAM, better processor, ForceTouch and a better screen are some improvements over previous generation phones.
