OnePlus 2, the much awaited successor of OnePlus One is officially releasing on July 27, the company announced. To make the launch more dramatic, OnePlus will be going Virtual Reality way, ditching traditional style of product launches.

"A VR launch lets you stand right next to our team and our fans as we unveil our new flagship. You'll be able to look around as you check out the phone in a new way and maybe even find a few hidden Easter eggs. It's a new way of thinking about a product launch. We aren't talking at you; we are talking with you," OnePlus wrote in a blog post today.

For the launch, OnePlus has designed its own custom headsets to provide unique experience.

The company has already spilled few beans on OnePlus 2 specifications, including that it would be the first smartphone to come with USB Type-C connector.

The device will be powered by Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 810 chipset. The handset maker has not revealed anything more about the product yet. However, according to rumors, OnePlus 2 would sport a 5.5-inch display, similar to what OnePlus One has. Another school of rumors suggest that OnePlus 2 might sport 6-inch Quad-HD display.
