Robin William's Wife, Children Head to Court in Estate Fight
Robin William's wife Susan Schneider and children are headed to court on Monday to battle over the late actor's estate.
William's wife had filed a petition in December last year claiming that his children took away memorabilia that actually belonged to her.
She has also made claims that memorabilia from their Tiburon home were also taken by the children without her permission.
The lawyers for the children and Susan will now appear before the San Francisco probate judge to argue over who gets claim to the actor's personal items, which were kept in one of his homes in Northern California.
While responding to the allegations, William's children, Zelda, Zachary and Cody said that Susan Williams was "adding insult to a terrible injury" by violating the trust agreement that was originally put in place.
"Susan's contention of ambiguity is entirely irrelevant because the trust is clear and unambiguous about who has the 'final and absolute' authority to determine the disposition of the tangible personal property: that power is vested in the trustees," the actor's trustees, Arnold Kassoy and Joel Faden, said in court documents.
Meanwhile, a lawyer for Susan Williams has clarified that she was only going to court to seek guidance about the meaning of certain items mentioned in the trust.
According to court documents, in addition to his personal items, the award and other memorabilia collected through the entertainment industry would be granted to his children through the trust.
Susan claims that since the Tiburon home was allotted to her, the actor must have intended the children access to only the items found in the other home in Napa.
There is however also contention between both parties regarding ownership over other personal items put in storage which includes the watches and other memorabilia.
