‘Games of Thrones’ Actress Maisie Williams to Guest Star on ‘Doctor Who’
Maisie Williams, who is known for her role as Arya Stark from the hit HBO series "Games of Thrones," will guest star on the popular British TV series, "Doctor Who."
"I'm so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it's such a big and important part of British Culture," the 17-year-old actress said in a statement. "I can't wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we'll be shooting not too far from my home town."
Steven Moffat, executive producer, said in a statement, "We're thrilled to have Maisie Williams joining us on Doctor Who. It's not possible to say too much about who or what she's playing, but she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell."
The next season of the BBC America science fiction show, "Doctor Who," will be focused on two new adventures. The first one, "The Girl who Died," was written by Jamie Mathieson and Moffat, and the second, "The Woman Who Lived," was written by Catherine Tregenna.
BBC America has not disclosed that much information on what Williams' role would be on the show.
Peter Capaldi will return as the Doctor and Jenna Coleman will reprise her role as Clara. Other guest starts include Rufus Hound, Tom Stourton, Ariyon Bakare, Simon Lipkin, Ian Conningham, Murray McArthur, Barnaby Kay, Jon Voce and Struan Rodger.
"Doctor Who" returns this fall.
