Resident Evil 7 is reportedly going back to its original survival horror roots after years of disappointing sales and declining fan base. While rumors suggest the game’s release at E3 2016, some analysts put the time window for the release next year to give Capcom enough time to polish the forthcoming title.
A tweet from a reputable gaming industry analyst suggest that Capcom will be making a slew of announcements at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 (E3) in June regarding next iteration of the iconic Resident Evil franchise. The game studio is reportedly going back to its horror roots following a growing displeasure among fans about the game increasingly off its original genre which made it successful in the first place.
E3 2016 may be the platform where Capcom is likely to reveal new details about their possible new sequel “Resident Evil 7.”
Amid growing disenchantment with the game, Capcom is now seeking to re-ignite interest into Resident Evil franchise by bringing back the survival horror roots that made the first three games immensely successful. The most recent games and a number of other spinoffs seem to have failed in locking in gamers after the series’ growing deviation from its original genre.
