American Horror Story Hotel Update: Lady Gaga Revealed as Star in New Themed Season 5
Grammy Award winning artist Lady Gaga will try acting one more time. The star announced via Twitter that she will star in the fifth season of "American Horror Story: Hotel."
AHS executive producer Ryan Murphy has confirmed that Gaga will indeed be in the FX TV series, which follows a differently plotline every season. This will be the singer's major acting debut on television. There is currently no word on what role she will play, but she will be a series regular.
Gaga has acted in minor roles before. She starred in Men in Black 3, Machete Kills, and Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For. Robert Rodriguez, who worked with Gaga in Machete Kill, praised her acting chops.
"She would be fantastic," the director said to E! Online. "The camera loves her. She's a great performer. She's performed twice for me now and I was blown away by her discipline. She studied acting before she became a singer and you could really tell."
No other cast members have been revealed so far. AHS veterans Sarah Paulson and Emma Roberts are currently working on different projects with Murphy. Paulson will star in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson and Roberts will appear in Scream Queens. Series regular and main star Jessica Lange hinted to the possibility of returning for another season.
"You know, I told him that we would sit down and have a long conversation when this was over," Lange told E! Online previously. "In a way this character is so great, I don't know how you top Elsa Mars. I really-in deference to Ryan, who I love dearly and who I respect beyond-I have no idea at this point."
"It always just comes down to pure fandom with me," Murphy told Variety in regards to the stars that he is able to get on his show. "I just speak from the heart about why I love them."
The next season will premiere in October.
