Pebble is launching a new smartwatch next week, according to reports. The company has put up a countdown timer with a cutesy image of a smartwatch on its home page, strongly hinting a new model of its smartwatch range.

The announcement is scheduled for 10 AM on Tuesday next week, but Pebble has not specified what exactly is launching.

According to multiple sources, a major update to both the Pebble's hardware and software could be released, 9to5mac reports. It added that the new smartwatch could gain slightly wider, color, e-paper-like display that will be encased in an overall thinner design. However it wont be a touch screen.

Pebble has been doing pretty good in terms of business. Earlier this month, the company announced that it had shipped 1 million of its smartwatches since the first one debuted two years 2013.

However, Pebble now faces greater competition that it did few years ago. Companies like Samsung, Motorola, LG and Sony have introduced smartwatches equipped with Android Wear and to add more heat, Apple is releasing Apple Watch next month.

Pebble is planning to add health tracking features at some point down the road although limited resources will prevent them from doing so anytime soon, TechSpot notes.

The color Pebble will debut at a price point similar to the Pebble Steel which currently commands $199.
