The Miami Heat's dream of making it to the NBA playoffs might have just ended. According to several reports, Chris Bosh could be out for the rest of the season due to blood clots.

Sources confirmed with ESPN.com that Bosh was being treated for a possible blood clot in his lung. Bosh's agent, Henry Thomas, stated that early test results have been inconclusive so far. Bosh will remain at South Miami Hospital where he will see more specialists in order to get a better understanding of his current medical condition. He was admitted on Thursday after suffering from chest discomfort for a few days.

"It's too early for an ultimate diagnosis," head coach Erik Spoelstra said. "I know there is a lot of speculation, a lot of rumors right now."

The Miami Herald reported that if doctors find a pulmonary embolus, the 10-time All-Star and two-time champion with the Heat would have to sit out for the remainder of the year. Treatment for multiple clots, which include blood thinners, will limit Bosh's physical activity levels. Recovery could take at least six months.

On Friday, Bosh's wife, Adrienne, took to Twitter to thank people for their support.

She also tweeted: "We are just staying focused on positivity and keeping him healthy #BoshFamily #TeamBosh #HEATNation."

Former Heat teammate LeBron James commented about the situation on Friday. He said, "I texted Chris last night and, obviously, he probably doesn't have his phone so I'm just waiting to hear back from him. I'm praying. My prayers is up. My hands is open and I'm wishing him the best. My fingers is crossed, for sure. Basketball is a small thing when it comes to health and people's family. He's so connected to me that I feel it, for sure. So every minute I'm checking to see if he's OK."

Bosh, who signed a five-year, $118 million contract in July, is averaging 21.2 points and 7.0 rebounds. The Heat recently acquired Goran Dragic and his brother, Zoran right before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET NBA trade deadline.

The Heat (22-30) are currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference They will have to play hard since they do not have Bosh and Dwayne Wade if they want to remain in playoff contention.
