iPhone 6S Release Roundup: Rumored to Sport Virtual Reality Display, 2GB RAM, A9 Processor And More
Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus had a tremendous start and same is being expected for its next version of iPhone - iPhone 6S and iPhone 7. According to latest rumors, iPhone 6S may sport a virtual reality display, more RAM and the latest A9 processor. It will also have a much improved TouchID.
A recent patent grant from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office hints Apple working on a virtual reality headset and display technology. Specifically, the grant is U.S. Patent No. 8,957,835 with the title "Head-Mounted Display Apparatus for Retaining a Portable Electronic Device with Display." The technology features a portable electronic device allowing users to insert an iPhone and wear it over the head, IB Times reported.
The patent was filed seven years ago, in which Apple argued that a wired connection is not possible because it will be inconvenient to the user. So the company decided to go for a system that "temporarily integrates or merges both mechanically and electronically a head-mounted device with a portable electronic device." As the application mentions, users will also be able to adjust frame to at level with their eyes.
However there aren't any official confirmation on these features and are just rumors. It might be also possible that it might not find its way to Apple's upcoming release.
Among other features, we might see a more secure Apple Pay in iPhone 6S which can be leveraged via the new improved TouchID module.
The iPhone 6S might also be shipped with 2GB of LPDDR4-based RAM. However, these are just rumors and should be taken with a grain of salt.
