Kanye West revealed that he and his wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian have overcome many odds to get where they are in the fashion world.

"She was always my muse, now she's become other designers' muses," West, 37, said in an interview with Style.com. "Soon as we started dating, fashion people were really opposed to the idea of reality stars. And all the relationships, the somewhat friends that I had somewhat built up, completely turned their backs on her and me. They already had their back to her, and now they turned it to me."

West added that he had to work hard to get into the fashion world after his first two collections were not exactly welcomed with open arms. West reflected on how he and Kim helped each other grow and learn.

"I was finally allowed to go to school," West said. "Every day I was in my mom [Kris Jenner]'s house, in my little brother's old room, Rob's old room, re-tailoring a Céline skirt, re-tailoring a Saint Laurent jacket, re-tailoring a Zara top, re-tailoring Wolford ... And day by day by day, [Kim and I] learned, we got better. We looked at the photographs together and she improved my style, we improved each other."

West added that his daughter, North, has also opened up his eyes and will continue to inspire him.

West debut his latest collection with Adidas at New York Fashion Week last Thursday, Feb. 12. During the show, North threw a tantrum while sitting on her mother's lap. Sources claimed that Anna Wintour was not too happy that the couple was bringing their daughter around even though she looked extremely exhausted.

"Anna said if you want to emulate Victoria you have to be respectful of their family principles. But Kim was embarrassed that she was scolded by Anna," an insider said according to OK! Magazine.

During the fashion show, Kim sat next to Beyoncé and Jay Z, who left their daughter at home.
