Pharrell Williams 'Happy' will be turned into a children's book
Pharrell Williams has signed a deal with Putnam Books to write a series of books aimed at children which will be based on his global megahit, "Happy."
The singer, songwriter, producer, fashion designer, entrepreneur and Voice judge is adding author to his résumé.
Putnam Books for young Readers announced on Tuesday that Williams has signed up for four picture books, starting with a celebration of childhood inspired by his hit song Happy.
The publisher, which is a division of Penguin Young Readers, plans a first printing of 250,000 copies.

"I'm humbled by the global success of 'Happy,' but especially in awe of the song's young fans," Williams said in a statement.
"My collaboration with Penguin allows me to continue a dialogue with these children in a fresh, new way. We're both committed to feeding the curiosity of young minds with imagination."

Williams has won 10 Grammys, including Best Music Video and Best Pop Solo Performance for Happy, the infectious 2013 tune from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack that was nominated for an Oscar in 2014.
His multimedia creative collective "i am OTHER" includes fashion, music, entertainment and art endeavors.
