Sony fans expecting the Sony Xperia Z4 in the upcoming Mobile World Congress might have to be disappointed as new rumors suggest the company might be launching a new mid-range Xperia phone dubbed 'E4.' The phone allegedly would be Sony's "first new smartphone for 2015."

Instead a MWC release, the Xperia Z4 might be released some time in summer. Reports suggest the phone would have much superior features over its predecessor, Xperia Z3.

According to benchmarking site Geekbench - the Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to boast a Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. It will have Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box and might sport a 5.2-inch 1440 x 2560px Triluminos display. It will have a 20.7MP camera and 3,400mAh battery.

It is also being reported that the Xperia Z4 has been approved by the Japanese Internal Affairs and Communication Ministry, which oversees telecommunications in Japan alongside other parts of the Japanese government. Reportedly, the phone will be available on Japanese networks NTT, DoCoMo, KDDI and SoftBand. Voice-over-LET would also be supported.
