Android 5.0 Lollipop - the latest version of the Android mobile operating system - has been available since November last year but other than Nexus and Google Play edition devices, it is yet to reach other phones extensively. However, according to reports, Samsung's Galaxy devices seems to be the next to get the update.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update is being made available for Galaxy S4 models in Russia, India, Slovakia, Germany and Czech Republic. The update takes about 1GB of space and requires 3GB prior to installation.

The update is also valid for other international versions of the devices similar to Galaxy S3, reported Latinopost.

Samsung present flagship, Galaxy S5 is the first Samsung device to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, followed by Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4. Galaxy Note 4 devices are being updated with 5.0.1 in Poland.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is also receiving the Lollipop update. In Poland, Android Lollipop update has also been confirmed for Galaxy Note 2.

However, despite the updates being rolled out, not everyone will receive at the same time. The updates will automatically come as on-screen notifications.

You can also manually check for the updates on your device by going to the device's Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Check for Updates.

Android 5.0 Lollipop sports one of the most prominent changes in user interface which is built around a design language referred to as "material design."

Google also made internal changes to the platform, with the Android Runtime (ART) officially replacing Dalvik for improved application performance, and with changes intended to improve and optimize battery usage, known internally as Project Volta.
