Kanye West Grammy Update: John Legend Defends Pal, Tells People to "Relax" About "Funny" Beck Comment

John Legend and Kanye West are one of the best of pals in the music industry. However, this does not stop the All Of Me singer from voicing out his appreciation about Beck and how he deserves to win Album of the Year in the Grammys 2015, E! Online said.

"I want to clarify my thoughts on Kanye's actions at the Grammys on Sunday. First of all, Kanye is my friend. He believed in me years ago when very few did, and I wouldn't be here without his support. That doesn't mean we'll agree on everything, but it does mean that I am grateful to him. And I also believe he is one of the most gifted people I've had the privilege of working with," the singer said in an Instagram post.

The 36-year old crooner also clarified earlier comments he made about Kanye West's 'funny' reaction when Beck was announced the winner.

"When I said that was funny and people should lighten up about it, that's what I meant. I wasn't referring to Kanye's comments after the show which I have now seen and heard. I disagree with those comments. Beck is indeed a true artist's artist. He's a multi-instrumentalist, a creative and unique singer-songwriter whose music I have bought and enjoyed over the years," he said.

It is remembered that the singer had an impromptu interview done exclusively by US Weekly when Kanye walk up on stage as if to steal the microphone and interrupt Beck's speech.

In the interview, Legend said, "I thought it was funny. I looked at it as just a funny thing that people were going to talk about. It didn't hurt anybody. Anybody who's upset just needs to relax. It was funny," he said at that moment.

Daily Mail quoted what the Yeezus singer said as he expressed his disapproval of the Grammy results and his vote for Beyonce Knowle's who is also nominated for Best Album of The Year.

"We ain't gonna play with them no more. Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé," West said on camera with wife Kim Kardashian on his side.
