Google Does Microsoft To Apple, Publishes 3 OS X Vulnerabilities

Google does it again, and this time to Apple. Google Project Zero - the Google's security team detecting bugs and flaws on the Internet - has published details about three security flaws in Apple's OS X operating system.

Each of these three security vulnerabilities may require a prospective attacker to have physical access to the Mac computer they're targeting, they all could be severe enough to allow a savvy user to elevate their own privilege levels and wrest control of the machine from its rightful owner or administrator, Project X researchers said, according to SMN Weekly.

Apple is yet to plug these prospective security breaches.

Google's Project Zero consists the Google security team that detects bugs and flaws in other operating systems and then notifies the company about it. There is a stipulated time window of 90 days for the company to either fix the problem or disclose it in public.

Google's move against Apple comes just week after the last report that revealed Microsoft's Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 bugs. Microsoft reacted to Google's "gotcha" behavior by expressing displeasure and asking Google to work with Microsoft for the mutual benefit of their consumers. Google didn't seem to pay heed to Microsoft's response and it released another report publicizing Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 bugs, Indiatoday.in reported

There is less chance that Apple will respond to the pointed bugs by Google as the product security page of Apple specifically states that the company doesn't confirm, discuss or disclose security issues until a full investigation has bee undergone and any necessary releases or patches have been made available.
