With Taken 3 doing well at the cinemas, there have been talks about the possibility of another sequel. Even as the just-released film was being savaged by the critics, it has managed to gross nearly $92 million worldwide during its opening weekend.

Back in 2011, producer/writer Luc Besson spoke about the Taken franchise and said, "We'll stop at two. I don't think we'll go like Transporter, for example, with two, three and four."

Even Liam Neeson who played Bryan Mills in the film ruled out the possibility of another sequel following the release of Taken 2. Well, all that has been proved wrong as the franchise continues to be a money spinner for the team, in spite of garnering poor reviews.

Luc Besson is currently busy rebooting the Transporter franchise for the big screen. Looking at current box office estimates, it should not be too much of surprise if a sequel is announced a couple of years from now.

When asked about the possibility of doing another Taken sequel, Neeson replied, ""There's always... I think if audiences go and see it and they like these characters, I mean, I'd love to do something with Forest again, and if it's in a 'Taken' 4 scenario... great."

Taken 3 involves the story of an ex-covert operative Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) who reconciles with his former wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) only to find her brutally murdered. Framed for a crime which he did not commit, Mills must use his special set of skills to track her real killers and protect his daughter who is the only family he has left.
