‘Microsoft Surface Phone’ Won’t Be Introduced In MWC; Pushed Back To Late 2017; Specs Better Than iPhones & Android?
The much-awaited smartphone from Microsoft, the Surface Phone, is not expected to make an introduction in Mobile World Congress 2017. Now, it is reported that the launch is moved back to late 2017, to give ample time for the project to bring in a brilliant smartphone experience.
It was previously reported that the Surface Phone is expected to be released in MWC 2017. According to current reports, HP will introduce a mid-range working with Windows 10 and that would be a consumer focused device. It should be noted that HP's previous Windows phone, "Elite X3" was also backed by Microsoft, providing the enterprise support. The support included Outlook 365 and Microsoft Cloud options to help the professionals. Microsoft is also expected to come up with future plans and introductions in Windows 10 during the event.
The long-rumored, and awaited phone by fans, is expected to compete with iPhones and obviously, the expectations are sky high since Microsoft introduced Surface PCs. This year's Surface Book and Surface Studio were critically acclaimed and highly appreciated devices. The Surface Dial introduction was very innovative and considered to be the best tech introduction of the year. Now, Microsoft fans are expecting another miracle from the firm in the form of a Surface phone which can easily compete and beat iPhones.
Interestingly, even Microsoft is very hopeful with upcoming Surface phone. The Chief Marketing Officer of Microsoft, Chris Capossela has confirmed that to save the Windows 10 Mobile platform, the firm is looking to Surface phone category. It should be noted in the wake IDC market report that more 98 percent of the Mobile OS industry is ruled by Android and iOS per 2016 Q3 and Windows devices are just 0.3 percent.
The Surface phone could be the last hope of Microsoft to revive Windows Mobile OS. The firm could be thinking that if it could come up with an excellent hardware and features then it can get an opening into the vast mobile phone and OS market which is ruled by Apple and Google in terms of OS. The recent move not to introduce the device in MWC 2017 is expected to bring a close to perfect device.
