Super Mario Run for Android?
People are going crazy over Mario's first ever mobile video game, an adaptation to one of their popular franchises, Super Mario Run. The game is only available for iOS users, leaving Android users behind on the fun.
Super Mario Run is a mobile game from Nintendo and the first for the Mario franchise. In Super Mario Run, Mario runs across the stage, collecting coins as many as possible while dodging obstacles. Different worlds have been integrated into the game, much like how there are different worlds to choose from in the original Mario games.
Super Mario Run was first released on the iOS earlier this month. There is no news yet as to when Nintendo will bring Super Mario Run for Android users to enjoy. There's so much hype for this event by players all over the world but Nintendo first targeted their iOS audience with the release. In an interview with Mashable, Shigeru Miyamoto explained the reasons why they targeted the iOS devices first instead of releasing it to both iOS and Android.
In the interview, Miyamoto stated the security is their primary reason why Nintendo first collaborated with Apple to release Super Mario Run. Since Super Mario Run requires internet access to play with all three of its game modes, it is in a way, their measure in securing the game for players to enjoy. Miyamoto wants to avoid piracy for Super Mario Run so that they could monitor players all over the world and use the data they gathered to further improve the security of the game.
Because of Nintendo's move on appealing to the iOS users first, there are a lot of clones of Super Mario Run running wild in the play store. Some of these are cheap clones while others have malware and other viruses in them when people install those apps on their mobile phones.
Nintendo didn't post any information about the Android release of Super Mario Run except that it might be released sometime in 2017. A representative informed Polygon that further information about the Android version will be revealed in the future.
