Miami Dolphins Blasts New York Jets; Matt Moore and Cameron Wake Surprises Everyone

With the help of veterans Matt Moore and Cameron Wake, the Miami Dolphins are now closer to the playoffs after defeating the New York Jets in a 34-13 blowout victory. This came a surprise to football fans as Moore and Wake were not expected to be the highlight of the game.

People are not really expecting a surprise attack from backup quarterback Moore and Wake when they entered the season. Moore, 32, is already aging and his last play was back in 2011. On the other hand, Wake, 34, was expected to meet his end of having an Achilles injury in the season-ending.

No one really knows if Moore would get a new start after staying out the game for four more years behind iron-man quarterback Ryan Tannehill. There are also expectations for Wake especially if he could still handle the grind of 16 games because there are chances that he will be injured after his surgery.

With the score of 9-5, the Dolphins have swept the Jets in two games already this season. They have now the final wild-card spot in the AFC by a half-game over the Denver Broncos, which has an 8-5 score already. They will host the New England Patriots this Sunday. The team has already 11-2 score.

Moore led the Dolphins' offense with 236 passing yards, a career achievement of four touchdowns and one interception and it was first game since 2011. He was also able to shake the rust on a short week.

Moore's best passes were a 52-yard deep ball to the team receiver Kenny Stills for a touchdown in the second quarter of the game. In addition, the also passed 66-yard touchdown to another receiver Jarvis Landry in the third quarter.

On the other hand, Wake also set some records in the game. He became the first Miami defensive lineman since Jason Taylor in 2006 to top a sack and an interception in the same game. Wake had two turnovers with a sack and interception of Jets quarterback Bryce Petty in the first half of the game.  That kept points off the board for New York.

He also combined with defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh with an immense hit in the fourth quarter, causing Petty to be out of the game that. Miami Dolphins have already won eight of their last nine games. Their next game would be against Buffalo Bills on Christmas.
