Apple AirPods Update: Wireless Earbuds Costs $69 Each; Single Earbud Replacement Available Now
Apple has just started selling its new AirPods this week, and iPhone 7 users have been cramming on getting a pair. And since there are no wires to hold the left and right earbuds together, users might want to take good care of them because each of them costs $69.
According to The Verge, customers will be charged $69 to replace or repair one earbud and the same thing goes with the charging case and other out of warranty issues. On the other hand, battery service which is needed since the AirPods are battery operated and will cost customers $49, as detailed by Apple on its pricing page.
As announced. the Apple AirPods comes with a one year warranty and as long as it covers the issues customers have in their earbuds, they should not be charged for anything, reports CNET. And though breaking or losing an earbud will surely cost a customer a fortune, Apple still has a better idea since it seemed that the company is the first one to come up with a single earbud replacement, explains Tech Crunch.
And if a customer does not want to spend $69 for an earbud replacement or repair, it is totally alright since the other earbud will still work perfectly fine without the other one. The tech news site adds that the AirPods will still be able to connect to the device without its pair.
Apple seemed to have just answered the main question customers have been asking since they announced the release of the AirPods. The wireless earbuds are already available for preorder and reports state they will be available for purchase and hit stores starting next week, for $159.
The launch of the Apple AirPods has been delayed as the company promised the release date would be on late October. The AirPods have special sensors that can detect when they're in a person's ear, has improved battery life, can last up to five hours, and the charging case it comes with can recharge the earbuds up to five times.
