The holiday season is just around the corner, and that means an entire season of cheat days for most people. And, it's no wonder that one of the more popular New Year's resolutions is all about trying to shed that extra pounds. For those who might want to get new weight loss tips, you can check out this list of the 10 Most Searched Diets in Google for 2016.

Making the cut says a lot about the popularity, but not necessarily the efficacy, of these diets that have piqued the interest of so many people throughout the year. There are some diets on the list that you may have never heard of. And yeah, there are such weight loss concepts as Pizza Diet and Taco Diet.

The list is courtesy of "Google's Year in Search." Here are the top 10 Most Searched Diets in Google for 2016.

1. GOLO Diet

The most searched diet for 2016 in Google is referred to as the GOLO Diet, CBS Boston reported. And, although it may sound like it, don't mistake it as eating everything you want as much as you can because "You Only Live Once." This diet by Dr. Keith Ablow is all about optimizing one's insulin levels and lowering fat storages for three weeks.

2. Taco Diet

This one is perfect for all the taco junkies out there. As you might have guessed, this diet is all about engorging on your favorite tortilla throughout the day--- breakfast, lunch, and dinner--- for one month. The creators of the Taco Diet also came up with a book detailing it, according to People.

3. Military Diet

The Military Diet, also known as the 3-day diet, promises a weight loss of about 10 pounds per week. Those who adhere must follow a daily meal plan for three days, which will be followed by 4 days off. This will be the weekly cycle and will last until you meet your ideal weight.

4. Atkins 40

The Atkins 40 Diet is a low-carb weight loss plan that advocates eating more veggies than what the USDA recommends. It also involves eating a lot of proteins like meats and fish, and healthy fats like olive oil, avocado, and nuts.

5. Ketogenic Diet

The Ketogenic Diet is strictly a very low-carb diet similar to the Atkins and LCHF (low carb, high fat) diet. It also places a restriction on the protein intake. This diet aims to increase the fat-burning rate of the body.
