Pokemon Sun And Moon QR Code Update: Guide To The Rare Island Scan; How To Get Rare Pokemon

Pokemon Sun and Moon QR Code has proven to be one of the most interesting useful features added on to the Pokemon videogaming franchise. Allowing gamers to scan QR codes for the different Alolan Pokemon, players can find out where exactly these Pokemon would Spawn in the different islands of Alola. But the most exciting bit about the QR Codes is that it offers gamers the chance to run Island Scans.

For gamers who aren't that far into Pokemon Sun and Moon just yet, the Island Scan is a feature made available after every ten QR codes have been successfully scanned. The scan locates rare Pokemon gamers can't regularly find in the island of Alola, or in other words letting a rare non-Alola Pokemon spawn right on the island.

There's a limit to the Pokemon Sun and Moon Island Scans though - gamers are only allowed to make 10 QR scans in a day, so Island Scans can only happen once daily. Gamers are advised to strategize which Island they choose to use the Island Scan in - each island corresponds to the level of Pokemon. The First Island, Melemele, hosts lower-level Pokemon while later islands have hold larger levels.

Gamers should also note that the spawn for the Pokemon Sun and Moon Island scan will only last one hour, so its best to have full acess to the island where the scan is run.

All Pokemon Sun and Moon QR Codes were leaked out on Reddit back in November, however it seems like the codes have been pulled off the site for some reason. It looks like Gamers have to earn QR codes on their own.

In other Pokemon Sun and Moon news, it looks like Pokemon producer Junichi Masuda isnt so keen in bringing the next Pokemon games to Nintendo's next gen console, Nintendo Switch.

"Without a doubt, the Nintendo Switch is the future, but we'll have to wait until it comes out on the market and study how Pokémon can benefit from it," Masuda said in a Pokemon Sun and Moon game interview translated into English.
