DC Comics' fans will soon witness a female-oriented villain team-up in the planned upcoming film, "Gotham City Sirens". Now which actress would be the best to play the role of the Sirens?
"Gotham City Sirens" movie will feature the familiar faces of Poison Ivy and Catwoman, with Geneva Robertson-Dworet replacing Christina Hodson as the film's screenwriter. Casting rumors for "Gotham City Sirens" has recently surfaced after announcing that David Ayer had been hired to direct the film for DC. Margot Robbie will still portray the character of Harley Quinn, together with other two teammates from the Sirens - Catwoman and Poison Ivy, according to Cinema Blend.
According to a report from Bleeding Cool, an actress may have already been casted to play Poison Ivy. The source claims that Megan Fox, star of "Transformers" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," has been reported to have been considered or chosen already to play the villain-role.
It was even reported that Megan Fox has recently ordered some specific comics online for studying. The actress has reportedly ordered "Harley Quinn" #14, #17 and #38 from DC comics. These specific volumes tell the first appearances and relationship between Harley and Poison Ivy.
Meanwhile, DC comic fans also suggested that Anne Hathaway should be back to portray the role of Catwoman. It can be well noted that Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle was one of the high points of 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises."
The Hollywood Reporter applauded Hathaway's portrayal of Catwoman. "Hathaway brought a lightness and sense of fun to proceedings that felt as if she'd come from a different, better movie altogether. She personified both the playfulness and the steeliness at the character's core in comic book mythology, without coming across as forced or unhinged," the article says.
Since the release of "The Dark Knight Rises," Hathaway has expressly opened up on numerous occasion that she would like to return to the character and would be open to reprising the role. As recently as this September, she said, "I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her ... I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back."
However, no official comments or confirmations were yet made by Warner Bros.
