NBA Trade Rumor: Serge Ibaka And James Harden Reunion Imminent? OKC Thunder Power-Forward Heading To Houston Rockets?
The NBA trade rumors are getting intense. According to the latest buzz, chances are high that the former teammates James Harden and Serge Ibaka will reunite this season. Reports are rife that Ibaka will follow Harden in Houston Rockets.
Serge Ibaka and James Harden used to play for Oklahoma City Thunder together. The pair has been running mates for three years until Harden left Thunder to join Houston Rockets. Harden is doing well with Rockets but reports are rife that Ibaka will follow him in Houston.
Blasting News reported that Serge Ibaka was great at defense but his current team now, Orland Magic is hoping that the player will improve his offensive and shooting skills.
Well, Ibaka has the potential. He showed his scoring potential while he was with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in OKC Thunder. However, he was always a third or fourth option.
Per the report, Magic is expecting too much from Ibaka and since he will be a free agent this summer, the team might trade him to ensure an asset in case the power forward decides to leave. Reports are rife that he will be moved to Houston Rockets where he will be reuniting with James Harden.
Yibada reported that the Orlando Magic and Houston Rocket trade involving Serge Ibaka will happen before the trade deadline in February. Magic has a surplus of defensive stoppers so they can let Ibaka go.
Meanwhile, Houston badly needs one but they have loads of offensive players that Orland also needs at the time. This trade will surely benefit both teams.
So who will be involved in the trade? Per HNGN, Orlando can choose either Trevor Ariza or Eric Gordon. If this trade will be pushed through then Serge Ibaka and James Harden's reunion is imminent. The two are expected to renew their glory days in OKC Thunder but this time for Houston Rockets.
