LeBron James Net Worth & News: Cavs Superstar Listed As One Of Richest Entrepreneurs Under 40
To say that LeBron James has been having a great week could be an understatement. King James has proven once again he reigns supreme over the others on and off the basketball floor with new honors vested upon him in recent days.
LeBron James Makes The Cut For The 2016 Richest Entrepreneurs Under 40 List
Thanks to his new net worth amounting to $275 million, the Cleveland Cavaliers alpha dog has been named by Forbes as one of the richest entrepreneurs under the age of 40 at the 39th spot. LeBron James joins the likes of fellow NBA superstar Kobe Bryant ($350 million), boxing great Floyd Mayweather, Jr. ($340 million), Hollywood actress Jessica Alba ($340), and pop superstar Beyonce ($290) as some of the newcomers on the list, which, unsurprisingly, is topped by Facebook co-founders Mark Zuckerberg ($50 billion) and Dustin Moskovitz ($9.6 billion).
LeBron James has been recently rewarded with a lucrative contract by the Cavs that would give him north of $30 million per year. But, the majority of his earnings come outside of his basketball paycheck. He was named an endorser for Nike, Coca-Cola, Kia Motor, and Beats, among others. James has been savvy with his money, as well, with sound investments in the food business and media.
Other Notable Achievements In The Past Few Days
Last Monday, Dec. 12, LeBron James also received his second Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year award in an event attended by some of sports' luminaries at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
"LeBron James has made all of those around him better on and off the court... The individual philanthropist, the man, LeBron James is even better than the basketball player," says rapper and friend Jay-Z who introduced James before accepting the award, wrote Yahoo Celebrity.
And just three days prior to receiving his award, LeBron James also made headlines after surpassing Elvin Hayes for the ninth spot on the NBA all-time scoring list. He now has more than 27,300 career points and broke Hayes' record during his team's 114-84 victory against the visiting Miami Heat last Friday, Dec. 9, CBSSports reported.
