Samsung may skip the Android 7.0 update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and these Smartphones may directly receive the Android 7.1.1 update immediately after the release.

The Update May Come In Early 2017

These devices were previously running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The tech community was thinking that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge might receive the Android 7.0 update which was skipped by Samsung. Samsung has not made any official statement about the release.

Features OF Android 7.1.1

The update is currently running on Google Pixel and other Google based Smartphones. It is comprised of features like new camera app, smart storage, app shortcuts, reset button, new emoji's, moves menu and support tab, News 18 reports.

The Android update will support the Google daydream virtual reality platform. The users will also be able to publish circular app shortcuts and launcher icons. As a result of the restart button in the power menu the users will be able to insert GIF and stickers into the app.

Other Samsung Devices To Receive The Update

As reported on Express Samsung had been testing Android Nougat 7.0 in a beta program for its flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge for the past few weeks but the company has now decided to skip this version of Android. Other Samsung Smartphones to receive the Android 7.1.1 update includes the Note 5, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge

Initially, Android Nougat has released three months ago but only a few number of devices were able to upgrade or install the update.

Google states that the responsibility for the rollout of the update on other devices is delegated on the manufacturers themselves.

Samsung as a South Korean tech giant would be the first Smartphone maker to offer the latest build update of Android Nougat apart from Google's own devices.
