General Motors Delivers First 'Chevrolet Bolt' Electric Car To Its Customers; More On Range And Price
The Chevrolet Bolt or Bolt EV is an electric subcompact car developed by Chevrolet in partnership with LG Corporation. Production for the model 2017 began in November 2016 and the European version, Opel Ampera-e, will go into production in 2017. As promised, General Motor delivered the first affordable fully electric car with over 200 miles yesterday. Chevrolet Bolt was delivered to its customers in the same town in which Tesla Motors builds its cars in Fremont, California.
The General Motors has delivered its first Chevrolet Bolt electric car to three customers in Fremont, California, to rival electric car maker company Tesla's assembly plant. In January 2016, the production version of the Chevrolet Bolt was unveiled at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas. And Mary Barra, GM's CEO announce in February 2016 that the European version, marketed as Opel Ampere-e will go into production in 2017.
Chevrolet confirmed an estimated range of 320km(200 mi) or more around the US $30,000 price after government incentives and stated that car would be available by the end of this year. On March 2016, General Motors released photos and teaser of its upcoming car Chevrolet Bolt, showing that ChevroletBolt had entered pre-production at the company's Orion Assembly Plant.
The Bolt EV is capable of using the latest mobile application technology to enable car sharing, advanced GPS routeing and gamification, all designed to improve the ownership experience now and into the future. General Motors has not formally priced the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt, but it has announced that it will carry a price of roughly $30,000, after federal rebates and inducements. The 2017 Bolt was first reviled as the Chevrolet Bolt EV Concept - at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is assumed to be based on General Motor's upcoming G2XX platform shared with the next-gen Sonic/Aveo.
