Charlie Hunnam and his bad boy biker role, Jax Teller, does not seem to have a place in the upcoming "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff series titled "Mayans MC." According to ComicBook.com, the official plot synopsis for the FX drama seemingly hints that the spin-off is a sequel to the original series.
The plot for the "SOA" spinoff series states that the show will be "set in a post Jax Teller world." This means that the "Mayans MC" will follow the events of the "Sons of Anarchy" Season 7 finale, which saw the death of Jax Teller.
The "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff series, therefore, will no longer feature the 36-year-old actor in it. The involvement of the original characters from "SOA" are yet to be made known, as the spinoff series will focus on EZ Reyes.
Despite this disappointing news, many fans are still hoping to see Hunnam appear in the "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff or prequel as a flashback. In an earlier interview with GQ Magazine, the "King Arthur" actor admitted that he had a hard time saying goodbye to his role as Jackson 'Jax' Teller, which he played for seven seasons.
"It was a lot tears for, like, two or three weeks, every time I thought about it," he shared. "Then one day, I woke up and was like, 'Okay, it's time to move on. RIP, Jax Teller.'"
