'The Winds of Winter' Release Date & Major Spoilers: Sixth 'ASOIAF' Book To Feature More Deaths? Bittersweet Ending Confirmed!

"The Winds of Winter" will be dark and might feature more deaths. George RR Martin teases the future of the characters n the sixth "A Song of Ice and Fire" book by giving the readers an idea that some of the characters are in dark places. Read more to know the details.

News Everyday previously reported that GRRM is attending the Guadalajara International Book Fair. The author announced this on his blog while stressing that it would be his last event of the year and he will minimize his public appearances in 2017 to finish "The Winds of Winter."

On the said event, GRRM shared some key details about the anticipated book in the Q&A portion of the book fair. According to the celebrity author he is working on a number of dark chapters for "TWOW."

He added that some of the characters are in very dark places. "Winter is the time when things die, and cold and ice and darkness fill the world, so this is not going to be the happy feel-good that people may be hoping for," the "ASOIAF" author said per Entertainment Weekly.

Prior to GRRM's teaser, there are already rumors that a number of characters might bid goodbye in the upcoming book. Yibada previously reported that the Stark siblings Brand and Arya might face their demise in "TWOW." Meanwhile, In a separate report from the same publication, Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister might also be doomed.

It is already confirmed that Jon Snow is alive but a number of lives are still in danger in "The Winds of Winter." GRRM is a genius and it is difficult to predict his works.

Meanwhile, the author added that the classic structure of most stories features things getting worse before it gets better and a lot of characters will have the same fate in the book. He also confirmed that he is not a fan of happy endings and will give the seventh book, "A Dream of Spring" a bittersweet ending.

The author has not announced the release date of the long overdue book, "The Winds of Winter." However, the book is expected to hit the bookshelves in 2017.
