With Pokemon Sun and Moon out for quite some time now, players have been looking around the internet for Pokemon tricks on conquering the Alola region. Some like the Zygarde Cells and Pokemon Locations proved to be something hard for players.
Like any other Pokemon games, Pokemon Sun and Moon have so many tricks hidden, waiting for players to stumble upon them. Whether it's conquering the Pokemon Trial, shiny hunting or completing the Pokedex, fans are sharing their experience of their progress all over the internet. So to help players on their journey through the Alola region, here are some Pokemon Sun and Moon tricks that may help.
Pokemon Location. It's not surprising to find certain Pokemon in certain areas in Alola. Aside from the QR and Island Scanner, Pokemon native to the Alola region can be found in certain locations. Rockruff can be found in Ten Carat Hill by going right and down until players reach a secluded patch of Grass. Rockruff is known to evolve into two different versions of Lycanroc, which is dependent on the game's version. Lycanroc Midday Forme for Sun while Lycanroc Midnight Forme for Moon.
Crabrawler is hiding among the fallen berries near Berry Trees. Crabrawler is a fighting-type crab that evolves into Crabominable ONLY when leveled up in Mount Lanakila regardless of what version players use.
The legendary mascots, Solgaleo and Lunala can be caught at the Altar of the Sunne or Moone depending on what version. The game's mascots come from Cosmog, the Nebula Pokemon. After leveling it up to level 43, it evolves into Cosmoem before it evolves into Solgaleo or Lunala at level 53, allowing players to capture them.
The Island Guardians can be found in their respective Islands. Tapu Koko can be obtained in the Ruins of Conflict but players must become the Alola Champion to battle it. Tapu Lele can be found in Ruins of Life. Players will be needing Machamp's help in order to reach her. Tapu Fini is located in Ruins of Hope while Tapu Bulu is found in the Ruins of Abundance. Only Tapu Bulu has a unique way of reaching its ruins by traveling the Haina Desert, taking the route up, right, up, right, left, down, up. Battling is the key. Battling Pokemon repeatedly can be tiresome but it also has its perks. Not only would players receive experience points for their Pokemon, it will also let players know if their Pokemon's moves are effective on the opposing one. The game will inform players if their attacks are "super effective" or "not very effective" depending on what kind of move they used against their opponent. It also helps increase the chance of encountering Shiny Pokemon in the field.
Collect all of Zygarde's Cells. Zygarde is known as the Order Pokemon back in the Kalos Region. In Pokemon Sun and Moon, players can collect Zygarde's cells that are scattered all over Alola. Having known to have different forms, it is important for players to collect all the Zygarde cells scattered. This will determine what kind of form will Zygarde get, 10%, 50% or 100%. The more Zygarde cells players gathered, the stronger Zygarde's form will be.
Pokemon Refresh. Pokemon Refresh is a mechanic which is similar with Pokemon-Amie from Generation VI. It is a feature where players can cuddle with their Pokemon. The higher a player plays with their Pokemon, the higher the hearts it will get. Once it maxed out the hearts, the Pokemon will be able to gain more experience in battles as well as avoid incoming attacks.
Wonder Trade. The Wonder Trade is a carry-over feature from Generation VI. It involves players trading Pokemon with each other around the world and get one back randomly. Which the Wonder Trade may be swimming with Magikarps, it is one of the ways players can obtain Pokemon they haven't caught yet in order to complete their Pokedex. It may be a tedious work but it's worth the fun.
