GoPro Tries to Bounce Back, Released the Karma Grip for $299
GoPro has officially released their handheld stabilizer, which they call the Karma Grip last December 4. Priced at $299 and up, the Grip was officially shipped along with the Karma drone but since the drone had a series of crashing issues, the poor Grip had to take a step back. Now, GoPro decided to sell the stabilizer separately and consumers' heart skipped a beat! Now, adventure fanatics can make use of the Grip along with their preferred cameras from GoPro.
Owners of the Hero 5 can definitely use the Karma Grip with no trouble. But for those who own Hero 4 Silver and Black, they will need to add around $29 to make use of the stabilizer. This is because they will have to buy a harness that will allow these two cameras to fit well with the Karma Grip. On the other hand, reports confirm that a harness will be available for the Hero 5 Session camera in the second quarter of 2017.
The unit directly competes with DJI Osmo, although both items have their own set of features. For one, the DJI Osmo provides more control but the GoPro Karma Grip offers better video quality especially when used with the Hero 5 unit.
The GoPro Karma Grip is available with all the needed accessories and a case upon purchase. An extension cable is said to be released next year. In case you do not want to hold the Grip then you can always make use of the mounting ring provided. You can also find an official backpack that comes with a Grip mount. Indeed, it seems like the people from GoPro had carefully thought of items to include to make the Karma very convenient. It comes with everything you may ever need during an adventure---apart from a camera. Indeed, the Karma Grip could be GoPro's hope to bounce back.
