Uber Driver Kills A Man In A Driveway Accident

A man killed by an Uber driver, who was dropping off his wife home after a night out in Toowoomba, west of Brisbane. The man arrived home and fell asleep in his driveway; the man was lying on the sloping part of the driveway as the Uber driver was unable to see him while dropping his wife home. The accident happened around 12:30 am on Saturday morning.

According to the police, the man was in his 40's and falls asleep in his driveway before the incident, which took place after midnight in Toowoomba. The Uber was bringing his wife home and failed to see the man who was lying in the downward sloping path of his driveway and ran him over, trapping him under the car.The investigation is still under its process and police haven't charged anyone yet.In the past 24 hours, the death was one of the three casualties in Queensland's

Emergency services were called and tried to revive the man but were unable to save him. Senior Sergeant Jamie Deacon said, "Tragically when they've entered the driveway they haven't been able to see him because of the slope ... and he has been run over."

A Spokesman of Uber said in a statement that, Their thoughts are with the woman and her family at this difficult time, and also they will help police in their investigation.

Uber is an American transportation network company in San Francisco, calculateCalifornia and was founded by Garrett Camp in March 2009(as Ubercab).The company has its App which allows the customer to send a trip request from their Smartphone, the software then automatically send to driver nearest to a customer. The app auto calculates the fare and transfers the payment to the driver. Uber cab service is available in 66 countries and 507 cities all over the world.
