There are a number of rumors going around that "Tekken 7" will be included in the new game console version of Nintendo Switch. These rumors were induced by the pronouncement of Katsuhiro Harada, the game producer, about his surprise that the new Nintendo console was unveiled. This surprise unveiling gave hope to avid fans of the video game that it will also be made available to different gaming platforms.

Support For Microsoft And Sony Platforms Are Not Confirmed

GameSpot inquired if the game producer will support the upgraded consoles of Microsoft and Sony which are the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. Harada stated that these platforms are rather new and confirming anything at this time will be rather difficult.

In a related development, there is a possibility that "Tekken X Street Fighter" will be worked on by Bandai Namco. This will likely be after "Tekken 7" is launched. Harada said that if the sequel is successful, it will jumpstart "Tekken X Street" since Capcom has been putting a lot of effort in ensuring the market success of "Street Fighter 5."

However, "Tekken 7" is enjoying success in the arcades. As reported by Attack of the Fanboy, it is for this reason that it will not be a wise business move to announce the launch of "Tekken X Street Fighter" at this time. Bandai Namco has chosen to stop developing "Tekken X Street Fighter" last April. Harada believed that if completed, it will further fracture the fan base of both "Street Fighter" and "Tekken" franchises.

Release Date Will Be Early Next Year

The latest rumors indicate that "Tekken 7" will be released on Feb. 2017. It is also very likely that additional characters will be featured as probable DLC fighters in the video game. These could include Julia Chang, Zafrina, Anna Williams, Roger, Jr. and Lei Wulong. Currently, there are at least 22 characters in the "Tekken 7" roster. There are also 10 additional characters in its sequel.
