On the last day of the Dalai Lama's four-day visit to Mongolia, the Tibetan Buddhism leader said he has "no worries" about Donald Trump being elected as U.S. president. He even expects that Trump will be able to work out future policies in line with global realities.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the Dalai Lama is looking forward to meeting Donald Trump sometime after the Jan. 20 inauguration. Furthermore, he said that he has always looked at the United States as the "free world" leader and was not bothered about Trump's remarks during the campaign period.

"I feel during the election, the candidate has more freedom to express. Now once they (are) elected, having the responsibility, then they have to carry their cooperation, their work, according (to) reality. So I have no worries," he told reporters.

Mongolia is heavily dependent on China for economy support, and the Dalai Lama's visit to Mongolia seem to have affected their ties. The same source said there was a report from the website of Eagle TV, a Mongolian TV station, that China had delayed the talks on a potential loan to support Mongolia in response to the monk's visit. The Dalai Lama commented that his visit had no political intentions and that he had not publicly displayed any advocacy for Tibet's independence since 1974.

In another report by CNN, though there is no confirmation yet if the Dalai Lama's meeting with Trump is already set, this possible meeting is likely to anger the Chinese government as they previously expressed disapproval on the Dalai Lama meeting with world leaders.

Geng Shuang, spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the spiritual leader "has been engaging in anti-China separatist activities overseas for a long time." He also said: "We hope the international community can ... appropriately and discreetly handle Tibet-related issues."

While the Dalai Lama's meeting with world leaders are being closely speculated, he was able to meet with President Barack Obama for four times during his term. Beijing has regarded the spiritual leader as part of the Tibetan independence movement.
