LA Clippers Doc Rivers Ignores Reports that Players are Unhappy
Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers was not disturbed at all about the latest claims that his team is unhappy. According to NBA.com, one source, who "knows that team well" stated that the teammates "don't like each other."
When Rivers was asked about this report, he stated, "I'm not getting into all this stuff. I've had teams that have won and they got along. I've had teams that have won and haven't gotten along. That's why it doesn't matter. I mean, really, it's so silly. To me, whenever I hear stuff that's outside of us, I think it's so silly that I usually don't make any comment on it, because it usually gives people something to write about. So go write about it, is what I'm saying."
The rumor that the locker room chemistry is bad could have stemmed from the incident that occurred during a game in November. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan got into a heated argument with one another on the court and on the bench as well. The trio was upset over a missed defensive assignment. The players stated that they have talked it out.
Paul also dismissed any reports that there was tension in the locker room. He said, "You see us in the locker room. You know that's not true, Yeah, we're fine."
The Clippers have won nine straight games at home, the longest streak in their franchise history.
"Well, you'd like to win them all and we're not going to do that," Rivers said reported by the Los Angeles Times. "But you just want to win home games. It's so important to win home games and establish yourself there. I think we've done a pretty good job of that after getting off to a slow start at home. But they are hard teams, hard games, and we just have to take them one at a time."
The Clippers (22-11) will host the Philadelphia 76ers (2-26) on Saturday.
