It's been 13 years and Billy Bob Thornton is reprising his role in "Bad Santa 2". With Thornton in the lead, people pretty much expect the sequel to be as good or even actually better than "Bad Santa" 2003. He even paired up again with Marcus and had an all-star cast.
The film "Bad Santa 2" had received a lot of negative reviews and the return of Willie T. Stokes was inhumane as even if "Bad Santa" was an awful protagonist, the happy ending made the audience feel satisfied. Bringing Willie back for another "Bad Santa" movie was just something that invalidates the happiness from the first movie.
Fans may have known that in the end of "Bad Santa", Willie ended up with a girlfriend and a surrogate kid, and now that he's back in "Bad Santa 2", he then was left by his girlfriend. He even reunited with his former partner who attempted to murder him. This sequel may have been really messed up.
"Bad Santa 2" had failed to show viewers something new. Thirteen years had passed and the same old tricks isn't as appealing at it was anymore. It was even reviewed to be not having the courage of its crass convictions. Others say that this is a that lives to their expectations just like what the original Bad Santa of before.
