‘The Mindy Project’ Spoilers & Updates: Show Takes 2 Months Break After 100th Episode, What To Expect In The Show's Return in 2017?

“The Mindy Project” is a romantic comedy television series that revolves around the love life of Mindy Lahiri, played by Mindy Kaling, who is also the creator of the show. For four and a half seasons, the show followed the heartbreaks of Mindy Lahiri and the hundredth episode certainly did not lack more of that for Mindy.

AV Club reports that in the hundredth episode and fall finale of “The Mindy Project” Season 5, Ben (Bryan Greenberg) broke up with Mindy after witnessing the kiss shared between his then girlfriend and one of her many ex-boyfriends, Jamie (B.J. Novak). However, the relationship was already treading on dangerous waters with Mindy pushing Ben to live up to his potentials while her boyfriend felt that he was happy being who he was. The kiss between Mindy and Jamie was the straw that broke the camel’s back which ended the relationship.

The final episode of “The Mindy Project” for 2016 saw the comebacks of a few of Mindy’s exes. Fans were happy to see Jamie again but not too thrilled with the return of Mindy’s ex-fiancé, Casey (Anders Holm). The episode ended with another one of her ex-boyfriend, Josh (Tommy Dewey) which was an uncomfortable and awkward encounter, TV Fanatic reports.

 Bustle speculates that “The Mindy Project” will return again in Spring 2017 but does warn that Hulu has a tendency to surprise fans with an earlier premiere. It also speculates that going forward, Mindy will continue to move on from Danny Castellano (Chris Messina) who is both an ex-boyfriend and a friend to her. It is believed that due to their special relationship with each other, this pair will always remain as a potential couple throughout the show.

“The Mindy Project” Season 5 Episode 7 titled “Revenge of the Nurse” was aired on November 15, on Hulu.
