Harry Potter producer David Heyman was tapped by China's Alibaba Pictures Group to produce the film adaptation of the famous book series Warriors.

The joint effort came to the realization when China's Alibaba Pictures obtained the rights to the British book series around four families of wild cats. There are 36 books in the principle series, penned by a written work group under the name of Erin Hunter and distributed since 2003, which have sold more than 30 million copies around the world.

"This is becoming the largest market in the world so you are looking to understand that market," Heyman said during a British Embassy news conference in Beijing.

The film is based on the British books for youthful grown-ups which take the way of Rusty, a pet cat raised by humans, and his journey after joining a wild cat family in the woods.

"He's stigmatized, he's an outsider, he is not from the forest, he's lived in the comfort of a human home," Heyman said about the character Rusty. "So it's about him getting acclimatized into this place, earning his place in spite of great prejudice against him and ultimately rising up."

There are as of now six series of "Warrior" books, which will include six novels each when finished. Other editions include the nine standalone novels also known as the super edition and an English-language manga. Alibaba Pictures uncovered that it had purchased motion picture adaptation rights a month ago. The series has been followed in nations including China, and the film is proposed for international crowds.

"The interesting thing about the books is there are such a lot of narratives," the producer said. He has added that they are still int he process of writing more books. This means that there will be more movies that will be done and that they will keep telling stories that will interest the viewers.
