‘Destiny 2’ Release Date, News & Update: The Sequel To ‘Destiny’ Will Probably Not Be Revealed At The 2016 Playstation Experience
According to its latest weekly update, Bungie, the developer of the multiple-award winning online first-person shooter game “Destiny”, will be in Anaheim in the near future. It is highly likely that this has something to do with Sony’s Playstation Experience which is a yearly event for the video game industry. Speculations from fans are going wild over this newest update, especially if the long-awaited “Destiny 2” will finally be unveiled at this event which will span over two days on Dec 3-4, 2016.
Bungie and Activision, the publisher for “Destiny”, have already confirmed that there will be a sequel to the immensely popular game “Destiny”. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that there are rumors that Bungie will draw the curtains on “Destiny 2” at the upcoming Playstation Experience in December, reports Push Square.
However, based on past track record that Sony generally have been showcasing lesser-known games in this annual event, it is unlikely that a game as prominent as “Destiny 2” will be unveiled there. Furthermore, as the sequel game is not expected to be launch until late 2017, it is unlikely that Activision will start promoting it before 2017.
According to Christian Today, it would seem that unlike its predecessor, “Destiny 2” will be available on more platforms, including on PCs. As one of the biggest criticisms of “Destiny” was that it was not available to play on PCs, to have the game available on this platform would make good business sense if Bungie wants to capture the massive market of PC players. This speculation is further fueled by Jason Schreier from Kotaku, a leakster who have proven his information to be accurate, who confirmed in his tweet that “Destiny 2” will indeed make it on PCs.
Gamingbolt shares the opinion that “Destiny 2” marketing campaign will not be officially launched at this year’s Playstation Experience. Nevertheless, it is likely that some information about “Destiny” will be revealed. Although past its prime, “Destiny” is still very a relevant game and it is feasible that Bungie is heading to Anaheim next month to announce information about “Destiny” rather than its sequel.
